Rous is an organisation of experts and advisors supplying the Northern Rivers with water, weed biosecurity, and rural flood mitigation.
We’re working behind the scenes to manage water catchments and supply, run targeted weed biosecurity programs, and maintain rural flood infrastructure across the Northern Rivers.
Rous supports local communities by providing expertise, experience, and asset management to supply water, weed biosecurity, and rural flood mitigation across the Northern Rivers. Rous works to meet the needs of our community to take care of what matters now and into the future.
Supplying drinking water
Rous supplies local councils with drinking water they provide to communities across the Northern Rivers. Rous’ secure catchments are filtered and pumped using over 400 km of pipelines ensuring a stable and secure supply of water.

Protecting biodiversity
Rous works to exclude, eradicate, and manage weeds in the Northern Rivers region. We also help educate and empower locals to protect local biodiversity.
Managing rural flood mitigation
Rous manages the construction and maintenance of rural flood mitigation infrastructure including canals and floodgates, as well as natural resource management initiatives.
