As a result of the introduction of the Disability Inclusion Act 2014, Rous approved its first Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) on 21 June 2017.
The DIAP is a strategic plan designed to support the community through recognising and removing barriers to access and inclusion wherever possible.
The intended audience is anyone who is interested in seeing how Rous intends to increase access to its sites and services. This may particularly include persons with a disability, their families and carers.
Council approves the DIAP.
Every four years.
Rous is required to publicly report on its goals, achievements and overall performance for the DIAP in a range of ways, including:
Rous develops an annual report for the community on its achievements in implementing its strategic goals. The annual report will include information relating to the achievements of the DIAP for the year.
(Note: Rous’ strategic planning framework is known as the Integrated Planning and Reporting framework or IP&R. For more information about Rous’ IP&R framework click here).
Rous is required to provide the Minister for Disability Services with a copy of its annual report on its performance in delivering against the actions set out in the DIAP.
