What makes a good submission?

A good submission should:

  • be well researched and based on facts, avoid hearsay or generalisations;
  • where possible, cite references or supporting evidence;
  • be brief and to the point in stating reasons for objecting to or supporting the proposal and why;
  • contain enough detail about how you have arrived at your assertions;
  • avoids statements which are defamatory or offensive; and
  • if objecting, suggest alternative solutions that have been identified or reference alternative actions.

How do we manage your information and data?

Submissions made to documents on public exhibition are considered public documents and therefore may be viewed by the public.

Council may publish any information and data included within the submission, on the website and/or include them in Council meeting reports and agendas. This includes your:

  • name (if provided and unless you state to have your name withheld)
  • postcode/suburb
  • response and comments

Please note: Do not include any information within your submission you do not wish to be made public.
Our privacy statement and privacy policy are available on our website.

What happens to your submission?

All formal submissions are collated after the closing period and analysed. A final report on the submission results will be made public via the Rous County Council website and other avenues deemed appropriate.
