Our water catchments include near-pristine areas of subtropical rainforest such as at Rocky Creek Dam, and multiple-use catchments such as the catchment areas for Emigrant Creek Dam and the Wilsons River source.
Rous County Council envisages 'healthy, productive catchments with fully functioning ecosystems that produce clean water' as the future of our water catchment areas.
This vision includes:
water efficient homes and businesses with clean stormwater run-off
healthy wetlands, creeks and rivers
productive agriculture using less pesticides and fertilisers
healthy rainforest ecosystems
effective ground covers that minimise soil erosion
